AP Support Group – Weekend Sessions for Age Shift Victims
The meeting hall for group therapy sessions was directly adjacent to the new Hollander Vocational Rehabilitation Center. It had been created following the Great Age Shift that affect the entire word population. While some people at a minimum aged or regressed as little as one year, for others it was decades in either direction and all manner of time variations in between. The vocational center helped those who were both rapidly aged into elderly individuals and how to cope with that new age, but also those who had been regressed. It could be as simple as teaching them how to be independent, such as how to drive a car or cook, which was especially needed for children who had been aged into adults of various ages, to therapy for those in advanced aged bodies and the limitations of what they could and could not do anymore, to even sex education classes for those children who were instant adults, by-passing puberty all together, and hot to deal with their new-found sexuality. There had been a huge increase in pregnancies for those who had been aged into young or middle-aged adulthood and got carried away with their raging hormones with no understanding of sex or proper prevention.
The saddest affected were adults who were regressed below the age of 10. In most cases as their adult bodies rapidly shrank in a very painful process, their skulls and brains retracted in size. This trauma to the brain and brain chemistry did not allow for the years of maturity and education and learning to be retained. The smaller brain literally forced the brain to re-write itself as it did not have the room for such knowledge anymore. So years of experiences, memories and education were simply erased due to the trauma. It left the child confused, unable to process what had just happened to the point they did not remember their own name or even who their parents were (or had once been). They were essentially blank slates with minimal knowledge. Therefore they tended to bond with the first adult they came across who showed a willingness to care for them.
All of the patients at the center were required to attend therapy sessions, both individual and group sessions once a week as part of their recovery. There were various options from weekdays to evenings to these weekend sessions. This was the Saturday afternoon group session.
