Wanda's eyes aflutter, she sits in a chair, Vision, of all people, sitting beside her in front of a big, oak desk.
"Well, I think we've solved the mystery." Hank McCoy, blue and furry, smiles kindly.
"Congratulations." Hank extends a clawed paw.
Wanda's jaw drops. What was going on?!
"That's wonderful, isn't it, Wanda?" Vision smiles, a posh accent, synthetic hands atop Wanda's trim belly.
Wanda didn't know what to do. She didn't know what to say. All of this was just so... nice?!
"I'll inform Headmistress Jubilation Lee the good news. Till then, I think you must immediately consider retiring from The J-Men."
"Now Wanda, sweetheart, you are pushing 30." Vision points out. "Maybe it's time we leave the capes and spandex behind us?"
"What are you talking about?!" Jean, belly ripe and expanded, dressed in a green and yellow maternity dress, her hips wide, her butt massive, shouts at the blonde in a blue pantsuit, hair in a tight bun, sexy, librarian glasses placed atop her head.
"Jean, darling, you need to calm down." Emma Frost speaks sweetly. Her accent sophisticated, elegant, and British. "Too much stress is harmful for the baby."
"We're married?!" Jean starts to blush.
Emma, puzzled, simply nods.
Emma figures Jean is just tired. She didn't get a lot of sleep last night.
"Why don't you rest on the couch, uh... watch that SpongeBob Anime you love so much, and I'll get us some lunch?"
Jean's belly grumbles loudly. Emma giggles.
"And I'll be sure to get you that chocolate cake shake you've been craving all week, don't you worry about that, love!"
Jean wanted to argue with Emma. But, for some reason, everything Emma pitched sounded... perfect?!
That sentence brought up a lot of feelings for the now former Scarlet Witch. She remembered saving a toddler when she was just starting out as a superhero and realizing that one day, she did want to become a mom. And then meeting Vision and thinking "this man could be the father of my future kids." And then realizing that even with all of her powers, she couldn't create life between a mutant woman and an android man.
Wanda looked over at Jean, who had her mouth full of curly fries. "I have always wanted a baby. It's just...I can't stay here. None of this is real. We're in a trap. It has to be a trap. Probably Mephisto. Aren't you the least bit concerned that you weren't here yesterday?"
Jean shrugged her spongy shoulders. She took a long slurp of her shake and smiled. "I have the woman of my dreams. She's beautiful and sweet and just perfect. And I'm having her baby. What could be better?"
"You...you hated Emma. Remember? And you were with Scott!" Wanda hunched over, putting her head in her hands. "Aren't you concerned that in one reality you weren't gay, and now you are? That's freaky, Jean!"
"I love my Emmy-Bear," Jean said with a dreamy smile. "If there's a reality where I hate her and where I'm straight..." she made a disgusted expression. "I don't want anything to do with it."
Wanda... - Talks to her parents about this mess - Talks to her sister Polaris - Tries to get through to Vision
Wanda realized that there wasn't any getting through to Jean. As they strolled down the aisles of Babies R Us looking for breasts pumps and car seats for little Rachel, Wanda thought about who Jean used to be. The redhead was always strong-willed and powerful...but was she happy?
She'd had more than her fair share of real and near death experiences. She'd seen her husband leave her for a blonde woman with bigger tits. And she killed an entire race of people by eating their planet. Maybe Jean had just decided to willingly go along with a reality where for once, she was actually happy.
But then...why didn't she feel the same? She'd had a rough life too. From her asshole father to "losing" her children -- the same children that weren't actually alive. And then creating an alternate dimension where she and her family were the crowned royals. Wanda had definitely had her fair share of shitty times yet she wasn't so quick to let go of that old life. Mostly because, she'd come to realize, that when something seemed too good, it usually was. That Demon Emoji wanted something from the women. Wanda just wasn't sure what quite yet.
"Oh, look at this! Too cute! And so inclusive!" Jean held up a tiny onesie that had a rainbow across the belly. Above it, in loopy letters, read "I love my mommies."
Wanda smiled. "Adorable, Jean."
"You know, we should start shopping for you too. You'll need all sorts of stuff since it's gonna be twins."
Wanda stopped in the middle of the aisle. Jean's cart, full to bursting, collided with Wanda's hip. "What did you just say?"
"You're pregnant with twins!" Jean chirped happily. "Their little brains began forming today so I can tell through telepathy." Jean tapped her forehead and smiled. "Aren't you excited? They have soo many cute outfits for twins! And you have to get a double crib and stroller!"
Wanda... - Is excited. Really excited. She calls Vision - Can't believe this is real. She tries a few spells to see if she can escape whatever this is - Continues shopping with Jean, buying things for the twins - Acts excited but internally begins to devise a plan of how to leave this trap
Wanda's heart races. She can't deny twins was something she truly wanted more than anything!
But she's been down this path before. She's been manipulated, she's manipulated, she's held cute, adorable infants in her arms and lost them with the snap of a finger!
Her heart races, breath heavy, she was at a panic, a shrieking ringing sound getting louder and louder...
Until Jean places a hand on Wanda's shoulder.
"Just be happy." Jean demands."You're gonna have two adorable babies soon!"
Wanda gulps, her body calming down, the ringing stopped.
"Just focus on the good stuff." Jean stresses. "You're gonna be a mommy!"
Wanda smiles taking a deep breath. That did sound nice. It's what she wanted. A life with Vision, kids, a brother that's alive, a dad who wasn't a complete ass all the time!
A part of her started to understand why Jean was so accepting towards this farce.
Jean has a loving mother, siblings she cares about, a devoted wife, and a baby on the way!
All of that sounded much, much better than her complicated and often destructive life as an X-Man.
Being a J-Man did seem a lot less stressful. Jubilation Lee, a woman in her late 50s, was a sweet, competent, respectful leader. Her pixie cut a silver grey, her shoulders broad, her yellow jacket an icon.
In this world, a world where Charlie Xavier is just a biology professor at a local university, where Eric is a hard working butcher, neither Jean nor Wanda could deny things look much, much better.
"Let's get lunch." Jean changes the subject. "Rachel is craving some strawberry soda!"
*** It's ironic. The woman who had an affair with Jean's husband is now Jean's wife.
Some could call it a divine punishment, really.
What's more ironic? Their sexual life, their public displays of affection, just the time they spend together, was far greater compared to Jean's relationship with Scott.
A part of Jean wonders if she ever really was heterosexual.
Emma's slender legs, Emma's breast, Emma's soft lips, the touch of Emma's skin, Emma's haughty breath. In this reality, Jean absolutely understand why Scott was unfaithful, Emma is a goddess!
"Good, you're using that new coconut lotion I bought." Emma sniffs the back of Jean's neck, her hands atop Jean's ripe belly.
And a devotedly caring lover at that!
"You like it?" Jean giggles as Emma starts to snip.
"You smell brilliant!" Emma coos.
Jean bites her lip. This really is perfect.
... Still. A part of her does wonderful how long this existence will last. Wanda was, in a lot of ways,,correct. This all just seems too good to be true.
"I was thinking." Emma with hands on Jean's meaty thighs proclaims. "Before the baby, let's go to a bed and breakfast a few towns over?"
Jean is delighted by the idea!
"Of course!" Jean gushes.
Damn it all though, this all just seems too good to be true!
*** "Can't believe the Xavier Girls are having babies." Headmistress Jubilation Lee, a middle aged woman with a silver pixie cut, dressed in a yellow jacket, blue jeans, combat boots and a pair of purple tinted glasses admits to her new personal assistant, Wanda.
"It feels like just yesterday you and Jean were on the New Mutants." Jubilee laughs. "I'm getting old!"
"We all are." Wanda smirks, sitting down at her new desk.
One minute, she was a J-Man, the next, she's sitting at a desk, with paperwork and filed, fetching Jubes coffee and setting up appointments!
The monotony, however, felt much welcomed to the brunette. It was indeed a much safer profession.
"So, when's the big day?" Jubilee asks with excitement in her voice.
-"Next spring." Wanda smiles. -"In two months..." Wanda's eyes lit up. Two months?!
The words fell off Wanda's lips before she could stop herself.
"Two months and a few days!" the brunette chirped. A split second later, she felt an immense amount of weight dropped onto her figure. One minute, her belly was flat and toned and the next, it was a huge sphere sitting on seriously flabby thighs. Her hands shot up, cradling the sudden six-month baby bump...though honestly it was less like a bump and more like a mountain. She was much larger than Jean and the redhead was full to bursting!
Her red pantsuit had transformed into a much more sensible red maternity dress with a polka-dot pattern. Her hand hovered over her belly-button, which, thanks to her enlarged womb, was sticking out proudly. She wondered, with a mental groan, just how many stretch-marks probably extended across her poor belly. By how tight her skin felt, she'd guess quite a few!
"You look like you're just about to pop! Are you sure you can still get around okay?" Jubilee asked with a flash of concern.
Wanda took a deep breath, feeling her lungs being squashed by her domineering womb. In her belly, she felt one of her sons turn over. Her hand immediately went to the spot, unconsciously trying to soothe him. "I'm...sure," she muttered, even though the thought of getting up terrified her. She felt so big and heavy and stationary. Beneath her dress, the skin of her belly and thighs touched, creating a sticky, sweaty friction.
"Uh huh. At the end of the month, I want you in bed, Wanda. Carrying around two big babies is a lotta work!" Jubilee cackled. "And although I love having you as an assistant, your job as a Momma is more important."
"Right," Wanda murmured as she continued to explore her new body. It was strange -- she wanted to freak out but she couldn't. Her new body was a little scary...but it also felt right. She kind of liked feeling so burdened by pregnancy. And the excitement she felt to meet her sons was overwhelming. The maternal hormones she'd heard about from Jean were flooding her system full force.
"And you have that joint baby-shower tonight, right? I have the invite on my fridge. Snoopy themed, I think," Jubilee asked nonchalantly.
Wanda nods dumbly as a stream of new memories arrived in her mind. Jean and her were much closer in their pregnancies now, though Jean was still a month ahead of her. But now Wanda was much, much bigger!
- Skip to the baby shower - Wanda needs to talk to Jean. Now!
"Jean?! I don't care about some cake! I want to go home!"
Jean set down her book and glared at her sister. "Home? You want to go home? So you want to go back to the place where we were considered monsters? Freaks? Murders?!"
Wanda visibly flinched at Jean's words -- mostly because they were true. She had been called all those things and more. Her own people -- mutants -- hated her for what she'd done to them. And she deserved their hatred.
"Yes, it's...hard. But it's real. And --"
Jean cut the brunette off by grabbing Wanda's hand and putting it on her belly. One of the twins chose that exact moment to move, causing a small bump to appear. "That - Wanda. That's what's real. You're babies and my little girl. And our family. Vision. Emma. Is there really no way for you to be happy?"
Wanda looked into Jean's green eyes. She was so sincere. It was clear she didn't care if this reality was a trap. She wanted a slice of the life she never could have had as an X-Man.
"So...what kinda cupcakes do you want?"
Jean perked up immediately. "Wellll, I was thinking strawberry with pink icing for me and chocolate with blue icing for you! Then it's a boy and a girl baby shower! And all the decorations are gonna be Peanuts themed -- which is pretty gender neutral, don't you think?"
"Uh, yeah." Wanda nodded and placed a hand on her belly. She was surprised how nice and natural it felt to do so. "And the food?"
Jean's smiled somehow grew. "Emmy-Bear found this amazing Japanese-American place that has all of these adorable appetizers that look like cartoon characters! And don't worry -- there's gonna be a ton of them!" Jean patted her sister's tummy. "Emmy-Bear loves to make sure I'm feeding Rachel more than enough!"
Wanda smiled. "Hm, Vision's the same. He's really been doting on me."
Wanda nodded. "He's even thinking of taking fewer Avengers missions. He really wants us to be a family."
"Maybe get a house? Two boys are gonna mean a lot of energy!"
Wanda bit her lip. "Maybe.."
- Skip to the baby shower - There's some more changes in store for Jean and Emma!
A beautiful wife, a great family, a baby girl on the way.
It all seemed so... perfect!
... Of course, something had to fix that!
"Hi, I'm Yumiko!" A four year old waves her hand cutely at the pregnant redhead.
"I'm Celeste!" A four year blonde adds. A four year old that looked an awful lot like Emma.
" I'm Esme!" Another dead ringer for Emma's gene pool chirps.
"I'm Irma!" And another.
"I'm Phoebe!" And another!
"And I'm Sophie!" And another!
All 5 the spitting image of Emma.
"Mommy says we get pizza tonight!" Irma claps happily.
"Girls, go watch tv in the front, Mommy has to explain to Momma what's happening."
"Okay!" All the kids scamper off.
"Which first, Yumiko or the Quins?"
"Yumiko." Jean raises a brow.
"She's my ex girlfriend and Logan's daughter. They died, I'm her legal guardian."
Ex Girlfriend? Mariko! Jean hated that fancy pants! Sure, if it wasn't for her, Jean would never have gotten out of the closet, but the thought of Mariko being with her Emmy-bear made Jean's blood boil with rage!
".... And the Quintuplets?"
"They're clones of me made by Mister Sinister. I rescued them and legally adopted them."
"... Without asking me?" Jean crossed her arms.
-Emma and Jean gets into a big fight. -Esme runs up to Jean's leg and asks for apple juice. Jean immediately falls in love and ultimately forgets Emma didn't ask to do this.
