Current Ranking: 1st Place: Padmé Amidala (Star Wars) (fan2000) 2nd Place: Deanna Troi (Star Trek: The Next Generation) (rayc5678)Current List: Commander Kelly Grayson (The Orville) (19) Amy/Amelia Pond (Doctor Who) (19) Samantha Carter (Stargate franchise) (15) Number Six (2004 Battlestar Galactica series) (14) Anita/Mia Hawkins (Humans) (5) ---------------------------------- Character AP Description: It was a sunny morning on the pleasure planet known as Risa, and Deanna Troi was sleeping on her bed, Once the sun hit her eyes, she slowly opened them up and looked over. "Oh Imzadi," she said in a frail and shaky voice. After a few moments, she remembered that her husband, William T. Riker, had died several years ago, and that the woman, now in her 90s, was alone. After a few moments of silence, Deanna slowly sat up in bed, her entire body shaking due to palsy. In addition to the shaking, her back hurt so much that she could hardly stand or sit up straight, and it had become slightly hunched. Despite the advances in medical technology, aging was something that couldn't be cured, and the former counselor and commander's health problems could only be managed. Luckily, her mental faculties were sharp and still intact. Reaching over to the nightstand with a shaky hand, she grabbed her thick glasses, and slowly put them on. Luckily, her hearing was better than her vision, though people still had to speak up. Once she had put her glasses on, Deanna reached back over to the nightstand, opened up a drawer, and grabbed the hypospray that was in the drawer. Bringing the hypospray to her neck of her shaky head, the empath pressed the button, and the liquid medicine was injected. After a few moments, all of her body stopped shaking, with the exception of her head and hands. Upon placing the hypospray back in the drawer, Deanna noticed the communications terminal on the other side of her suite was blinking, indicating that she had a message. Swinging her legs off her bed, Deanna pushed herself to the edge of the bed. Her once dark drown hair had become gray. Her skin, which in her youth, was once smooth and toned, had become wrinkled and saggy. Her breasts, which were once firm and upright, had sagged and became heavy. For the most part, she had kept her figure, but she had become frail, and she had trouble getting around on her own. Reaching over with a shaky hand, the empath grabbed a metal framed walker and pulled it over to her. After a few moments of positioning it in front of her, she grasped the handles with her shaky hands and slowly stood up. Once up, Deanna slowly started to walk, shuffling her feet and pushing her walker as she did. After several minutes of slow moving, Deanna finally reached the communications terminal. Easing herself into the chair, she reached over and pressed a button, causing the computer to turn on and play the message. The message was that of her daughter, Betty Riker, named after Will's late mother. Unlike her parents, Betty became an engineer and was the chief engineer on a Federation starship. In the message Betty explained that her ship was going to be on a deep space assignment for several months, perhaps even a year, and with no other family, her own daughter (Deanna's granddaughter), Kestra, named after Deanna's late sister, would be staying with her, as they had no other family. Kestra, who was 5 years old, was on her way to Risa to meet with her grandmother, would arrive there in 3 days. Turning off the communication terminal, Deanna sighed. She would have to prepare for Kestra's arrival, getting her suite set up, plus get her granddaughter enrolled at the local school. She would have to do that later. For now, it was time for breakfast.
