Saw it last night! Definitely agree on all counts. Real sad there was no graying hair, especially because I think Thomasin McKenzie would look radiant with gray hair, as would Embeth Davitz. Certainly a fun time.

So in short, only three bits of aging and no actual AP, just sicknesses spreading....one job M Night.

So in short, only three bits of aging and no actual AP, just sicknesses spreading....one job M Night. Well, no - there was plenty of AP in the film. The whole film was literally about age progression. It just had only two people aging to OLD age. Many made it to middle-age and all of the children went from kids to adults.

My final note on this is just reiterating what I've said before: It was sort of imperfect but maybe it had to be. Shymalan and others haven't, like, gone DEEP on age progression the way we have. The little things we appreciate they don't get. So they had to trade on basics and scares a bit, so it was destined to be limited in so many ways.
But it was a nice first try at big-screen AP being the full theme of a movie with a budget. And I'd love to (and hope) it inspires others to explore the topic with even more nuance. I think Stephen King once had a film Happy Golden Years or something. I sorta wanna watch it and see if it was any good.
