Thanks Fan. MeanMark, I've seen the episode a few times and her acting older doesn't really save it. Though, I don't know if you're thinking that because she looks like an old lady, that she has to act like a normal old lady. I do believe that in the episode Amy was in her 20s and was aged to her 50s/60s (it's been a while since I've seen it). So for her still having some spunk at the age she was playing in the episode, plus with the situation going on in the episode, her acting was appropriate.
In all honesty though, I've always been curious to see what Amy would have been like in 2012 (the time of the episode "The Angels Take Manhattan"), after she got sent back in time at the of the episode. According to the tombstone of the graveyard that they visited at the end of the episode, she was 84 when she died.
I agree with you Ray, I wish they would have found a picture of an older Rory and Amy as that might have created a better resolution for both fans and the Doctor in story.
However, I have a feeling that they'll do what they're doing on Netflix's, The Crown, and switch out actors, and have older actors play older ages of the characters.
