Hey everyone. I'm in the process of starting to write a OA Doctor Who story. In the story, the Thirteenth Doctor (played by Jodie Whittaker), is now an old, frail woman, who has basically "retired" from saving people due to her age (she still travels the universe). She takes in a young child, and the two essentially become each other's family. Along the way, they meet some of the Doctor's former friends and companions like Amy Pond, Missy, River Song, etc. However, all of these companions are old like the Doctor, and a few will travel with her, giving her a "new" family. Each chapter will introduce a former companion who will either join the Doctor and the child, or just be around for that chapter. Once I have it written up, I will post the first chapter on here. However, the rest of the chapters will be posted on my DeviantArt (DA) page, though I will link the pages onto the forum.
I do need some help though. For the second chapter, I'm planning on bringing in River Song into the fold. Though, I'm stuck as to what mobility aide she'll be using. What mobility aide do you think she would be using?
A wheelchair (manual, electric, or hover)?
A walker (metal framed or rollator)?
A cane or two (regular or quad)?
Let me know what you guys think.

Mobility scooter. Reason? Romance. I picture the Doctor, old and lanky, sitting on River's lap as they parallel with a pond as the sun sets.

I'm more of a fluff kind of guy. That's just me though. Chrono, I actually have the Doctor using two quad canes, so I thought that it was funny that you suggested River use a quad cane.

To each their own. Still, I love that ship! If anyone is the Doctor's Wife, it's River. 😄 Anyways can't wait to read your story 👍

I threw this together the other day and couldn't remember why, then i remembered this conversation... That's pretty good spyguy. I must admit, my muse for doing this story has disappeared, and the picture really sparked it again. However, the premise of the story is going to be redone. The premise is this... In the story, the Thirteenth Doctor (played by Jodie Whittaker), is now an old, frail woman, who has basically "retired" from saving people due to her age and declining health. While visiting a museum in the distant future, the Doctor meets a young man whom she believes is human (in the beginning, Earth and humans have gone extinct). The young man turns out to be a mutant from another universe (think like X-Men or the Inhumans from Marvel or Metahumans from DC), and a medical doctor. Due to her declining health, the Doctor has become senile (I've read on the Doctor Who Wikia that once a Time Lord becomes old enough, they can become senile), and decides that she's going to take the young man back to Earth. The young man, worried about her health, goes with the Doctor and becomes her caregiver. Before going to Earth, they get a message from the Library, a planet-sized library, and go there. Once there, the Library's A.I., CAL, told them that she bring back River Song, or her ghost data, in a human body with an extended lifespan. However, River's ghost data would already be old, as she lived an entire lifespan with CAL. River, is then brought back to life, but old and in declining physical health (she won't be senile like the Doctor), and goes back to Earth with the Doctor and the young man, who is the caregiver to both ladies, and they live together happily, for the most part. I've basically decided to turn the story into a romantic/fluff story between an elderly Doctor and an elderly River. Of course, after they arrive on Earth, some stuff will happen, but I'm not going to give anything away. I don't know when I'll exactly work on the story, but it'll be worked on.
