It's been fourteen years since they lived together, and, amazingly, Tracy, Mika, and Julia are still the best of friends.
It helps that their kids go to the same school. Oh, and, also, it helps that they're all on The PTA. Tracy the treasurer and Mika... well, Mika has a pretty big minivan!
"Did you hear about Kalesha?" Tracy gossips like the sorority girl she is at heart.
Julia shakes her head, sipping on a cup of coffee, clearly the designated fat friend of the group, but with little to no self consciousness. Partly considering how massive Tracy's butt has gotten over the years, partly because Mika is only as slim as she is thanks to a lotta help from lap band.
"A third marriage!" Mika grins devilishly.
Julia chuckles. The topic was definitely juicy and entertaining. A lot more fun and lively than work. Honestly, working on the board was more boring than a root canal!
She simply adores her little outings with the girls.

Oh I really like this. Sorority girls to gossipy PTA moms is definitely one of my things. I liked to see what else Julia's day has in store but if you want to take the story in another direction feel free!
"Mortimer, did you send that bottle of champagne to Mister Yamada like I asked?" Julia asks at the office to her assistant. Mortimer Nary.
"Yes, Ma'am." The Brit, currently on lunch at his desk, responds in a rather goofy manner.
Julia simply rolls her eyes. Despite his eccentric disposition. Mortimer is pretty good at his job. She hates to admit this out loud, but, well, the fact that he's 26 often makes her a tad bit... biased. She was a high schooler when he was born! That definitely makes her feel old.
Her mind wasn't exactly focused on work at the moment. The Family Vacation was becoming a fight with the Husband. The PTA is working on a big pancake breakfast next month. Oh, and with her parents are moving to Florida very soon. She doesn't really want to be in the office right now!
She looks back at Mortimer, throwing away a sandwich wrap into his trash bin, thinking about her life at 26. It was around 26 when her eating habits became... gluttonous. Honestly, the idea of being a vegetarian again is simply ridiculous! Still, she has been concerned about her weight as of late.
That being said, a gym membership just sounds... awful!
"About to run some errands for ya, Ma'am." Mortimer smiles. "Besides the list, anything else you have in mind?"
Julia shrugs her spongy shoulders and sends Mortimer off. Unaware he's me. You're narrator! I do hope that's acceptable?! 🤣

Luckily for Julia, Debbie, a member of The PTA had carpool today.
Julia is rather fond of Debbie. Being of similar age and size. Also, Julia enjoys, at times, to subtly flash her wealth to the middle class woman. For example, when a tired and exhausted Debbie shows up at Julia's practical mansion.
To add to the joy of seeing Paul, her well behaved 9 year old, Julia was delighted to not see Debbie's oldest. Jennifer.
Julia can't stand teenagers these days. They dress so provocative, act so arrogant and disrespectful to their elders, and their slang is completely incomprehensible.
And their music? Garbage to Julia's sophisticated ears!
That being said. Give Julia a little credit. This happens with age. Not like she's alone over that hill! 🤣

You're masking it with a fake smile and pretty clothing... but, it's as obvious as a frat boy with a hat's premature baldness, you're very much depressed, love.
The pounds you've gained are an excellent indicator.
And that's okay. You made a few bad choices, you're taking in the consequences, but, you're not a bad person. Relationships don't always work out. But hey, with time, at least, your relationship with your son will get better.
This is a situation that won't get better over night. You'll have to take this day by day. You've got this 👍
And for now, Sussie has become your whole world. The positive to all this mess.
Also, you've stepped down from the board, after your parents nearly disowned you over the affair, you realized being so tightly up the corporate lifestyle wasn't the best fit for you.
You've also left The PTA. Those Mums sure love to gossip!
Alright, you're 47, Sussie is 4 and Paul is 14. Where's life stopped for you at the moment?

kappa: Anonguy, to personally deal with this situation, I think about an old Chinese proverb about an Old Man Who Lost His Horse. PRETENTIOUS, I KNOW 😂 But, still, it's a valid lesson. Opportunity and Tragedy are two sides of the same coin. 😘

tej2506: Would there be any interest in a 4th session of the AP support group? I went AWOL after Session 1, and I miss doing group RPs. I really think it could bring us all together during these strange times, and it's the longest thread on the forum for a reason.
