I say the first option. We have seen the aging virus before as mentioned(though I would have preferred seeing Crusher to Pulaski), so this would be something different. I also like the idea of the two ladies trying to use the transporter to reverse their aging, only to increase it. I like the appeal of that, of a character trying to reverse something only to age them further, kind of like a tempting of fate, or that they could have left well enough alone.
Sorry about that folks, I've been busy. Also, I was hoping to get more votes on this one before I continued. Anyway, the first option it is. However, I might include the second option as a choice in the story.
So, my next question is this. How many years per day should they age due to the virus? Should they age...

kappa: I feel like the point of that scene was a conversation towards her fears with monogamous long term relationship. The Aging was merely an extension personified, AND, in the backseat of what was really going on. A couple communicating.
