The Imperial Guard captain paused at the door, she had been in the presence of the Emperor himself and in the Imperial Throne room with the Him along with the Imperial Prince and Princess, but the Empress was another matter entirely. Even though she did not have any powers in the Force, it was known that the Empress was more dangerous with her "kindness" compared to the Emperor's "mercy". Steadying herself, the captain pressed the panel on the left side of the door. It seemed minutes until the whispery replay came from the intercom, "Enter", and the door swished open.
Stepping inside the brightly lit office, the captain quickly stood aside as a black haired young woman walked past stone faced. The captain kept her thoughts away from speculation for the meeting between the Empress and her granddaughter, instead taking in the seated woman. Her white hair at first glance made her look 10 years older than she yet the Empress' lined, thin face surprisingly made her appear younger than she was. The Empress stood regally and it was then the captain noticed that she wore a form-fitting shift that hung on her thin body that was stumped just a tad. Extending a veined hand to something behind her, the captain turned to see the Imperial robes. Quickly holstering her blaster, the captain took the robes with both hands and placed it on the boney shoulders. With surprising speed, the Empress' hands worked and suddenly she appeared as majestic in person as she had in all those holographic stills the captain had seen all her life. "Let us go, Captain Phasma," the whispery yet authoritative voice said.
Leaving the office first, Phasma waited for the Empress to exit and then fell in a step behind her. Down the hallway she saw the rest of her detail and thought about the procedures to and from the Imperial Senate. Then the Empress spoke again, "Your predecessor is now surviving in the Kessel mines because he liked to talk of what he saw in private moments, but young Rey is very concerned for my well being and may not be as kind as myself or merciful as the Emperor." The Empress stopped and turned her head then smiled just enough to make Phasma shiver, "But you our a survivor Captain, so I expect you to survive your tour on my Guard."

Interesting twist on how you have Padmé there, Fan. The only thing I think would work better for that is if she had a cane, sort of like how Sidious/Palpatine was during the movies. It would show her age, but not how she acted. Just a thought.

Thanks Ray. I did think about having Padme have a cane accessory, but because it got really close to the Palpatine vibe I choose not to go that route. And honestly, I couldn't remember what her age would have been exactly (late 70s/early 80s given she was older than Anakin).

It's just how I pictured her after reading the scene you did, that's all. As for her exact age, I'm not sure. I think Anakin was like 8-10 in the Phantom Menace, and I'm guessing she was around 20 (given her title as Queen of Naboo) at the time, but I'm not exactly sure. According to Wookiepedia, the Star Wars wika, Anakin was 9 when he met Padmé, who was 14 at the time when she was elected Queen of Naboo (in the Phantom Menace). So, I wasn't too far off in their ages. Anyway, it doesn't matter now. Current Ranking: 1st Place: Padmé Amidala (Star Wars) (fan2000) Current List: Deanna Troi (Star Trek: The Next Generation) (9)
