Something that has been passed down in your family for generations. Like a pocket watch, a bracelet, a necklace, a pen.

A bible, a brooch, a grandfather clock.

Glad you like the word. Tu hablas espaΓ±ol, right? I took French and Spanish in school... did poorly. But uh, I guess I could've said "reliquia de familia"? I remember doing a family tree in Spanish and we had to bring an heirloom of some sort. Also, I googled the word cause I didn't remember the word in Spanish, also, ironically, my heirloom was a book in Dutch π

Just a reminder that there is about a week left to submit your stories for the contest! I'm working on mine along with you all! If you haven't started your story yet or haven't gotten very far in it - there is still plenty of time to pull it together by the end of the week! Remember, it only needs to be around 1000 words so if you need to do a briefer version of the story you planned in the interest of getting it in, go for it! You can always make the longer version later!
Just to get a sense of where everyone is at - sound off here if you've got a story coming for the contest or even if you've begun it but are worried about not finishing it in time!

I wouldn't object to an extended deadline, certainly.

So I would be entirely open to extending the deadline 10 days to Monday December 16th, but I want to be fair to the two entrants that submitted before the extension. Kappa and Ray, how do you feel about extending the deadline?

I honestly posted so early as a standard, ya know?
I felt like there were people who wanted to participate, but, were apprehensive.
Figured my piece would be like. "Okay, I could probably do better than that!" Or "Alright, I think mine could be that long." Or "Hmm... Kappa's was okay. Maybe I can post!"
Point is, I genuinely wanna see more stuff and if that means an extension, so be it ππ½

Okay since Ray and Kappa don't mind and it sounds like it could make the difference for the few people between having a story submitted or not - we're going to extend the submission deadline 10 days to Monday December 16th. That's two weeks from today, good luck everyone and I look forward to reading all of your stories!
