Well, more of a missed opportunity that would make for an interesting story. The Hang with DJ episode this season is all about a dating app that promises to pair you with your ultimate match via a computer algorithm. You go from relationship to relationship until it sets you with the perfect one.
Kicker is, this relationships go for a preset time. The episode opens with the protagonist couple meeting each other and getting a 12-hour relationship, then they go to a 1-year relationship.
I haven't finished the episode, but I could see this spawning an AP story where a woman, or perhaps a woman and a man, get a 12-hour relationship, like each other but trust the algorithm and can't continue. So they move on as programmed (in the ep, there's a hint of consequences if you don't listen...), to one-year deals, then 5-year-deals, then 10-year-deals, and suddenly they're in their 40s or 50s when the algorithm re-pairs them with each other and the woman is going through menopause, etc.
Lots of fun to be had, even if the episode didn't seem to touch it. I can't vouch for the story not touching it, obviously, but I had to get this out in the open while it was on my mind.

It's definitely a missed opportunity as an ep. But there's an even cooler conceit in the ep too: The idea that doubt drives the timer in this relationship algorithm. It's easier to discuss if you guys watch it, but there's lots of potential for an AP story in here. A TON, at least to me.
