Researchers have built a 1950s Era town to help with patients suffering with Alzheimer's.
This rather sweet, yet, admittedly sad concept got me thinking of an AP Story.
A Group of College Kids, 18, right on their first semester, are on a road trip and stop to a rather strange town.
TWO DIRECTIONS:
Direction 1: The town is built to resemble the 1950s. Slowly, the teens age decades, becoming more and more attached to that era of time, finding themselves nostalgic as they get old and grey.
Direction 2: The Town seems absolutely normal. It's the 2010s. Their childhood. What they don't get is, but will soon learn, the 2010s was a long time ago!

Both sound great. I do love the idea of the second one and could be fun as like a steady aging as the town seems to change around them!

In regards to the second direction, here's what's I see happening:
The 4 Characters:
1) Daddy's Princess with a goal to get into her Mom's sorority
2) TikTok Influencer known for her boobs and pouty lips
3) The Honor Student with goals to be a Lawyer
4) Token Nerd Friend
The Changes:
NOSTALGIA: Things pertaining to the 2010s, rather normal things at that, slowly age the characters physically and mentally.
Out of the Know: There will be things in town that make it clear it's actually the 2080s. Things that will confuse the characters, progressing their ages physically and mentally.
Treatment: People will treat the characters more and more like old ladies.

Nostalgic Triggers I have in mind:
1) Fidget Spinners
2) Slime
3) TikTok Dancing
4) Dabbing.
Out of the Know Triggers I have in mind:
1) Music that they are unfamiliar with and find confusing and unappealing to the ears.
2) Slang that seems utterly ridiculous
3) Obscure Pop Cultural references that completely fly passed their aging heads.
4) Obscure devices they are incapable of using properly
